Popular Routes
From ancient temples to misty tea hills, these are our most-requested journeys.
Explore Sri Lanka's cultural capital with visits to the sacred Temple of the Tooth, the stunning Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, and optional stops at spice gardens and Pinnawala elephant orphanage along the way. Best year-round.
Wind through lush tea plantations to "Little England" in the cool highlands. Visit a working tea factory, walk the misty trails of Horton Plains to World's End, and enjoy Gregory Lake. Best from January to April.
Drive the scenic coastal highway to the UNESCO-listed Galle Fort, swim at Unawatuna's sheltered beach, and catch blue whales off Mirissa (November to April). A perfect mix of history, coast, and wildlife.
One of Sri Lanka's most photogenic journeys. Hike Little Adam's Peak at sunrise, walk across the iconic Nine Arches Bridge, and take in endless green valleys on the scenic hill country drive. Best from January to March.
Step back in time through Sri Lanka's ancient kingdoms. Climb the legendary Sigiriya Rock Fortress, explore the cave temples of Dambulla, and wander Polonnaruwa's 1,000-year-old ruins. Great year-round, avoid peak monsoon in October/November.
The ultimate Sri Lanka road trip connecting Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Ella in one epic loop. Tea estates, waterfalls, train bridges, jungle hikes, and cool mountain air at every turn. Best from December to April.
Hop between Sri Lanka's finest beaches from Bentota to Tangalle. Snorkel coral reefs in Hikkaduwa, explore Unawatuna's cove, and unwind on Tangalle's quiet sands. Perfect for combining with a hill country or Galle trip.
Chase waves along Sri Lanka's legendary surf coast. From Arugam Bay's world-class point break to Weligama's beginner-friendly rollers and Hiriketiya's hidden gem bay. East coast peaks April to October, south coast November to April.
Head east to Sri Lanka's surf capital on the Indian Ocean. Arugam Bay offers world-class waves, pristine beaches, lagoon safaris, ancient monasteries, and the wildlife-rich Kumana National Park just down the road. A laid-back vibe with a mix of surf culture and Tamil-Muslim heritage. Best from April to October.
Explore Sri Lanka's storied northeast. Visit the historic Fort Frederick, built by the Portuguese in 1623 and held by the Dutch, French, and British. Inside the fort, discover the ancient Koneshwaram Temple perched above the sea, swim at Nilaveli's crystal-clear waters, and spot wild dolphins in Trincomalee harbour. Best from May to October.

That lifelong love for sharing Sri Lanka's beauty is what inspired Zoom Lanka Travel. After 24 years of relying on Suranga as her own personal driver, she knew he was the perfect partner to bring this vision to life. Now retired, Champa coordinates every trip personally, drawing on her deep knowledge of the country to help plan itineraries that go beyond the usual tourist trail.
